Now that the snow’s gone, we’ve had a busy week, finally catching up with all that was postponed while the ground was covered with snow/slush/ice. Kennedy Park had near-daily rehearsals for their Christmas Carol service, which is coming up on Tuesday. Scoil Mhuire also had rehearsals, and then the actual carol service on Friday. Which, you guys, was the best. thing. ever. Seriously. I love Christmas things so much. Carolyn and Clarisa led the various classes in different carols from around the world, ending with “The Wexford Carol” from right here at home. The fourth class also put on a Nativity play, complete with singing and dancing and partying shepherds. So good.
We’re also in the midst of preparing for a slew of Christmas Masses, which, again, is a delight. We’re dividing up the responsibilities in a way that is leaving me responsible for playing the organ for one Mass (while Patrick man-tors! Woo!). I haven’t attempted THAT since high school, so definitely wish me luck.
As we enter this last week of Advent, know that you’re all in our prayers, and keep us in yours!
So sorry to hear about the elves…..they have struck here once again- I returned from the island to find them in a sink full of mini marshmallows, taking a “bubble” bath.
They also kidnapped the manger scene shepherd and replaced him with a dog in a shepherd suit. Today there was an elf swinging over the driveway and he pelted Dad as he left for Mass……. I take comfort in knowing that the usually leave on Christmas eve.
