The past weekend brought some fun reunions for our community, as two old friends from the Folk Choir stopped by to have a look at the work we are doing in Wexford. They were able to take part in our typical weekend liturgy schedule as we sang at the Saturday Vigil, assisted with Children’s liturgy on Sunday morning, and sang with the Folk Group at the 11:15 Sunday Mass. One of our guests will be staying with us until Friday to get an even firmer grasp on a typical week in the House of Brigid. With that being said, the upcoming week is anything but typical—I guess we should have warned him in advance.
The Lenten Season is now in full swing at the parish of Clonard. Tonight we will provide the music for Stations of the Cross, which will be taking place every Monday evening for the remainder of Lent. We will be using a new set of reflections written by our very own Jess Mannen. On Tuesday we will be hosting a Confirmation retreat at Clonard before heading out of town Wednesday for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with the Notre Dame community in Dublin. On Wednesday evening we will be assisting with the music at a St. Patrick’s Day mass at O’Connell House before also lending our musical gifts to the Celtic Twilight* Program. On Thursday we will be attending the Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin and then head over to Croke Park to take in the club Hurling and Gaelic Football championships. It should be an exciting couple of days. In any case, a happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone back in the states. You’ll all be in our thoughts and prayers on Ireland’s big day.
*This is a concert at O’Connell House featuring Notre Dame students in the Dublin Program. As far as I know, it has nothing to do with Irish Vampires. Sorry teenage girls.
