We’ve got a wonderfully busy week ahead:
On Wednesday we will welcome Jess home from the states where she interviewed and selected three new members for Teach Bhríde Season 3… and hopefully raided Target on a daily basis and ate lots of Chick-fil-A! (I’ll let her announce the official cast list since she is House Director-in-Training but I can tell you this, they’re all AWESOME!) Jess will be arriving just in time for one last Class Mass rehearsal for one of Kennedy Park’s fifth classes before the actual liturgy which will take place on Thursday. I had the opportunity to attend one of the Class Mass rehearsals last week in Jessica’s absence and this class is particularly adorable. I can’t wait to see all of their work bear fruit on Thursday in front of their friends, families, and the rest of the parish community.
We are also working away on our preparations for this weekend’s upcoming trip to Galway where we will visit our friends in the parish of Bearna and give a workshop centered on music for Lent and the Triduum. We’re presenting loads of good music that we hope the musicians will find refreshing and very useful.
Please pray for us this week as we meet with the Diocesan Vocations Director for what will hopefully be the first of several meetings and the beginning of a lasting dialogue. Our goal is to talk through ideas about how the Teach Bhríde community can get involved in some sort of vocations initiative among the secondary school students (high school aged) of the Diocese of Ferns, particularly talking about the idea of lay vocations.
This is all exciting stuff! Please keep us in your prayers and we’ll be sure to let you know how things pan out!
Hi – thanks for the fantastic workshop in Bearna today. Some of the music you shared with us will definitely be on the plan for Lent and Easter.
