Veni Sancte Spiritus: Come Holy Spirit
Recently the Wexford crew has been busy preparing for the National Opera House Concert. Now published is the official Opera House Concert website: https://operahouseconcert.wordpress.com/ . The website provides musical resources and details for the Ferns diocesan choir we have begun rehearsing with. Feel free to check it out!
In other news, last week Jena and I had the opportunity to partake in Confirmation retreats at Ballyvalloo as part of the Ferns diocese retreat team. Throughout the week the 6th class students listened to songs, joined in teamwork and comradery through activities, discussed their faith, reflected on their own gifts and talents, and wrote their own prayers. Although each day was different, offering new insights and perspectives, I was delighted to find that in every retreat the young people were eager to know Christ, and were hungry for gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Furthermore, while I was at Ballyvalloo Laura, Brendan, and Jena were busy preparing the schools for Lent. On Ash Wednesday they provided a prayer service at Kennedy Park and Scoil Mhuire for the students, and participated in distributing ashes! In addition to preparing for lent, the Wexford crew is in the process of preparing for the 2nd classes First Reconciliation services, are wrapping up the Teaching Masses, are participating in the You Should Be My Witness Confirmation program, and are preparing for the schools ceremonies of light.
This week Brendan, Geoff, Sister Mary, and Father Denis are in the states interviewing new members for Teach Bhride 2016-2017. We wish them safe travels and hope that the Holy Spirit is with all the candidates.
