Hello, everyone!
At this point, we have just one month to go before the end of our service year and our return to the States. When the four of us arrived in Wexford way back in late August 2014, we understood that, following Easter, “The School Sacraments” would be the final push—that Confirmations and First Holy Communions would herald the closing of our time in Ireland. Kennedy Park and Scoil Mhuire had their Confirmations a few weeks ago, and this weekend marked the beginning of the end of the great school sacrament season at Clonard, with Kennedy Park and our Educate Together students making their First Holy Communions. The liturgies were beautiful, the children were brilliant, and all of us are very proud of the hard work the students, teachers, priests, parents, parishioners, and Teach Bhríde members put into making the reception of these sacraments so special. We are very much looking forward to Scoil Mhuire’s First Holy Communion liturgies in another couple weeks!
Coming up, the third class students at Kennedy Park and Scoil Mhuire have their Rosary services later this week to conclude our observance of the Marian month of May. We are also hosting a diocesan choral workshop at Clonard this Saturday, May 30th, from 2-4:30pm, which will be an exciting sampler of new music from the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir. After that, our schedules become much lighter, and then in a few short weeks it will be time for us to head back to the USA. Times flies when you’re having fun, making music, and working hard!
We hope you have a blessed week, and please keep us in your prayers!
P.S. As the month of May comes to a close, here is a picture of Our Lady from our recent trip to the Mourne Mountains:
