Coming off of last week’s celebrations in honor of the feast of St. Brigid, Teach Bhríde has turned to preparing for some exciting ministries and events to take place leading into Lent. We’ve continued to hear a lot of positive feedback regarding the St. Brigid ceremonies from last week, and we’ve been delighted to hear that so many people found the services prayerful and enjoyable. Many thanks again from all of us to all who attended or helped with the St. Brigid services!

As we’ve been working to help prepare the Confirmation programme You Shall Be My Witnesses this year, the past two weeks have been exciting as both Scoil Mhuire and Kennedy Park primary schools have had their first evening teaching sessions. The programme has gotten off to a great start, and the parent coordinators and volunteers leading the teaching sessions have done an amazing job. Additionally, this past Sunday Scoil Mhuire had its second of four teaching masses preparing second class students for their first Holy Communion. These teaching masses are especially enjoyable times of catechesis and prayer for Teach Bhríde as it is always a joy to see so many children engaged in the liturgy and asking so many great questions about their faith. We are so fortunate and grateful to have such wonderful parent volunteers in Clonard helping out with sacramental preparation, and we want to thank greatly all parents, guardians, family members, and sponsors for supporting the many children preparing to receive their first Holy Communion or Confirmation.

This Saturday Teach Bhríde is holding a music workshop for the Diocese of Ferns, and we look forward to welcoming many musicians and choir directors from around the diocese for an afternoon of exploring some great selections of liturgical music. The theme of the workshop is “Psalms for the Seasons,” as we will be looking at psalm selections for different parts of the liturgical year. We are very excited to meet new faces and make some tremendous music praising God this weekend!

Our best wishes and prayers will be with Fr. Denis, Sr. Mary, and Joy as they travel across the Atlantic to Notre Dame next week to interview candidates for next year’s Teach Bhríde community! We are very excited to welcome a new community of volunteers for next year, and our best wishes and prayers will also be with all those interviewing and applying to join Teach Bhríde.

We hope everyone here in Ireland, back home in America, and across the globe is keeping well and staying warm and safe from any winter weather that may be blowing through. All best wishes and God’s blessings to everyone!

Peace,
Ben
